Water service is provided by El Dorado Area Water and Sanitation District, EAWSD. They can be reached at 505-466-1085 or their website. Their business office is located at 2 North Chamisa Drive, Santa Fe, NM 87508. Their hours are Weekdays 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Water emergencies can be reported 24/7 by calling 505-780-0090.
Sewer service is provided by the individual property owner’s septic system.
Recycling and solid waste disposal (trash) is provided by Santa Fe County at the Eldorado Collection Center, ECC. They can be reached at 505-992-3010 (phone hours are Weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) or their website. The ECC is located on the East side of 285 approximately three miles South of I-25. ECC hours of operation are subject to change; please see the website for the current schedule.
Self-service recycling is free at the ECC. Solid waste disposal is fee-based by purchasing a prepaid coupon book. As of January 2024, the coupon book can be purchased at the Market in the Eldorado Agora Shopping Center. Weekly trash pickup service is a fee-based service provided by Waste Management. They can be reached at 505-892-1200 during office hours Weekdays 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or their website. They provide limited recycling services. Trash pick up is every Monday morning and recycling pick up is every other Monday morning.
Telephone service is provided by CenturyLink. They can be reached at 866-963-6665 or their website. Telephone service is Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and provided using CenturyLink’s Internet infrastructure.
Cellular service is provided by AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile as well as a number of virtual network operators (VNOs are companies which resell AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile’s network capacity, such as Consumer Cellular or Cricket Wireless). Rancho San Lucas is located in a weak coverage area with limited 4G and LTE service.
Internet service is provided by multiple vendors. The FCC and the Telecommunications Act defines Broadband Internet service as greater than 25 megabits-per-second download speed. There is currently Broadband Internet service available in Rancho San Lucas ranging in speeds from 5 megabits-per-second to 80-megabits-per-second depending on service provider and distance from the nearest service node:
CenturyLink can be reached at 866-963-6665 or their website. They offer Internet access, telephone service, television (via a DirecTV bundle) and cellular (via a Verizon bundle). Internet access speeds up to 80 megabits-per-second down and 5 megabits-per-second up are advertised. Typical service levels are 20 megabits-per-second down and 1.25 megabit-per-second up.
Cyber Mesa can be reached at 505-988-9200 or their website. They resell CenturyLink DSL service and also offer a fixed-wireless service with 3 megabits-per-second or 6-megabits-per-second service. The fixed-wireless service requires an external antenna with line-of-sight access to Cyber Mesa’s facilities.
NMSurf can be reached at 505-986-1669 or their website. NMSurf offers a fixed-wireless service with advertised speeds up to 50 megabits-per-second down and 10-megabits-per-second up (although actual user reports are considerably lower). The fixed-wireless service requires an external antenna with line-of-sight access to NMSurf’s facilities, the antenna may have to be mounted at a considerable height to reach their facilities.
La Cañada Wireless Association, LCWA can be reached at info@lcwireless.net. LCWA is a non-profit organization providing “best effort” fixed-wireless service through a network of access points.
Mail & Package Delivery
Mail delivery is provided by the United States Post Office via a contract carrier. Mail can be addressed to either Lamy or Santa Fe. It is recommended you visit the post office to obtain your ZIP+4 code. We are served by the USPS Coronado Branch located at 2071 South Pacheco St, Santa Fe, NM 87505. They can be reached at 505-438-1540 or their website. New owners will need to visit the Coronado Branch in person to obtain mailbox keys.
Rancho San Lucas mailboxes are located at the entry to the subdivision on Camino San Lucas. Parcel deliveries are placed by the postal carrier in the shared numbered parcel lockers, with a key placed in your mailbox. The key will be clearly marked with the shared parcel locker number. After you remove your package, leave the key in the lock of the parcel locker.
